The sanctuary is built above Faro, 2 km from the Baidarskiy Vorota Pass on a steep Red Rock. The Faroes church was built in 1892 at the expense of Alexander Kuznetsov, the owner of the Faroes manor and a merchant of the Guild, to commemorate the rescue of Emperor Alexander III and his family in the tsarist train crash on October 17, 1888 at the Kharkov railway station. The best specialists of the time were invited to work on the design and construction of the temple. The project was prepared by Russian architect Academician N. Chagin. The mosaic was created by the workshop of the famous Italian Salvati, and the interior painting was done by artists K. Makovskij and A. Korzuchin. On October 4, 1892, the church was consecrated by Martinian, Bishop of Tauria, and given the title of Christ's Resurrection. Anti-religious propaganda after the 1917 revolution, which over time led to the destruction of cultural and historical heritage, did not spare the wrath of this church. In 1921 the church was closed, the crosses were overthrown, the paintings were smeared, the values of the church were taken away, and the icons of famous masters disappeared without a trace. A warehouse was made from the church, and a restaurant was later opened. The building gradually fell into disrepair and, after a fire in the seventies, was completely abandoned and left to its fate. And it was not until 1981, that the building was recalled, the condition of the ceilings and roof examined, and the condition of the paintings and interior decor assessed. The church is declared an architectural monument of the 19th century. 1987 allocates money for external restoration. After the completion of the first restoration work, the church was returned to the faithful. And although the restoration work has been ongoing but intermittent, it is not yet complete.
Uncomplicated, but well-designed and beautiful model of the church, perfect for any experience modeler. Even an advanced beginner can glue it on their own. The set includes a sheet with "gold-plated" details.
