The Sopot style villa

In 1867 a world exhibition was held in Paris, where a richly decorated villa was presented, which attracted the attention of all visitors. The impression was, that since then, houses built in small resort-recreational settlements, had to have characteristic balconies, porches and verandas. They were decorated with lace-like openwork carvings. Sopot also became such an area, where houses of this style took hold. The villas with verandas built here are almost unchanged, have survived to this day, are being restored and beautified every day. There are about 300 of them in this resort.

A simple, but beautiful model of a villa, that will be glued together by a modeler of any experience. Only beginners and modelers with little experience are recommended to glue it under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. More experienced modelers can squeeze a lot more out of this model, than the publication gives, based on photos of the original.
