A minesweeper is a special purpose vessel, whose task is to search for, detect and destroy sea mines and to safely guide ships through minefields. They are a key component of de-mining forces. According to the purpose, navigation area and armament, minesweepers are divided into marine, base, raid and river minesweepers. The main armament of the mine-searching ships themselves is various types of trawls - contact trawls (these are usually strong chains, to which many knives are attached and a buoy - paravan is attached to the end, with their help mines are cut off, the mines, that pop up are usually destroyed with shots), acoustic (intended to detonate mines with acoustic stimuli simulating the sound, caused by the passage of a large ship), electromagnetic (similar to acoustic, simulating the electromagnetic characteristics of the target).
We offer a simple and moderately detailed, but quite well-designed model of such a medium-sized ship from this publication. It is designed for modelers from the advanced beginner to the paper modeling ace. The graphic part of the instruction is somewhat poor, but the text part is excellent. Antiquarian publication.
