ORP S-2 (British designations: MA / SB 44 or MGB 44) - a British-made gunboat, that served in the Polish Navy during World War II. In 1940 July the ship entered service under the Polish flag and served until 1944. The water capacity was about 31 tons. The length of the ship was 19.2 m, width - 5 m, the maximum speed at sea was up to 40 knots. Armament in 1941 included: one 20 mm "Oerlikon" cannon, 6 machine guns of  7.7 and 12.7 mm caliber, depth charges and sea mines. The vessel was built at the "British Power Boat"' shipyard and belonged to the so-called "63-foot speed boat" type, built by this shipyard. Ships of this type were originally built for Norway and Sweden, but with the outbreak of World War II, some were taken over by the Royal Navy. The boat in Polish service was originally part of the 3rd Flotilla of the British Royal Navy, where it formed the 3rd Fleet Division together with ORP S-1 and ORP S-3. 1940-1944 the ship took part in many operations in the English Channel, very often fighting German light ships. One of the most famous skirmishes of this boat was, when she alone took on 6 German torpedo boats in 1942 June 21 to the 22nd at night. It is also worth adding, that for this feat the captain of the boat - Capt. Eugeniusz Wciszlicki was awarded the Silver Cross of the "Virtuti Militari" Order and the Distinguished Service Cross. The cutter fought throughout the war until the war end, ORP S-2 was decommissioned in 1947.

A small, uncomplicated, fairly well-designed and moderately detailed "hand" design model for modelers of any experience. When gluing this model, beginners and less experienced modelers may not even need the advice of a more experienced colleague, but rather rush and use all their reserves of care and attention. But working in a company is both easier and more fun. Antiquarian publication.
