The rapid development of submarines after World War I and over the next 60 years led to the development of small warships, designed to detect and destroy them. At first, the fight against the underwater threat was difficult and primitive. A submerged submarine during World War I was practically indestructible. But, over time, it was learned to fight with them. The first depth charges and detection devices for these ships, called noise pelengators, were designed and manufactured. This made it possible to create specialized ships, capable of fighting the enemy, hidden under water. They are called submarine hunters and appeared as a separate class at the end of World War I. Since then, ships of this class have developed and improved rapidly. At the same time, weapons for destroying submarines and detection devices also improved. Now, in addition to depth charges, special depth rockets charge are often used, and rocket torpedoes are used on larger ships. The fight against submarines is not the only purpose of this type of ship. Due to their relatively powerful, lately mostly automatic artillery, they are used to destroy torpedo boats and other small military and civilian ships, airplanes, cover their own torpedo and missile boats, patrol the coast, protect fishing and hydro-graphic vessels, and disembark small diversionary and landing groups.

We offer You to make a not very complicated, rather well-detailed "manual" design model of the Polish Marynarka Wojenna submarine hunter. It is not complicated, so it is suitable for modelers of any experience, only less experienced ones are recommended to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. The graphic instruction is small, but quite detailed, the textual one is excellent. Antiquarian publication.
