The KrAZ-255B is the result of further development of the JaAZ-214/KrAZ-214 high-speed vehicles. This car was built at the Kremenchug Automobile Plant (KrAZ) in 1967 on the basis of the KrAZ-214 - the car is equipped with a new, more powerful, eight-cylinder V-shaped diesel engine "JaMZ-238", wheels with wide-profile tires and a central tire pressure control system. Compared to the KrAZ-214, the speed and carrying capacity have increased. The composition of the car remained the same, as the base model, the changes mainly affected the mechanical part of the truck. "KrAZ-255B" was produced at the Kremenchug Automobile Plant from 1967 (other data - 1965) to 1979 (other data - 1984). In 1979 the production of the modernized car "KrAZ-255B1" began, in which the separate brake system for each wheel was abolished. "KrAZ-255B" was equipped in the Armed Forces of the USSR, later these cars were taken over by the Russian Army. A number of these machines were also exported. After the collapse of the USSR, part of the fleet of these cars remained in the Republic of Lituania, where they are still used in certain areas. A certain number were also used in the Lituanian Army - mostly in engineering units for transporting parts of pontoon bridges and their installation equipment.
Thus, after working with computer rendering programs, this complex and perfectly detailed model can be made into an exhibit of "Lithuanian" technique. There is engine compartment detailing, an opening door, engine hood, opening windshield, full cab interior, "driving" all-wheel drive, "steering" front wheels, opening rear side of the cargo platform, one of 4 paint options (Russian, Polish, Czechoslovakian and German DR). There are spare parts. By the way, when making a "Lituanian" pontoon carrier model, pontoon parts and tug boat models can be "borrowed" from the Ripper Works RW-48 and RW-50 publications, only they will need to be scaled up from 1:32 to 1:25 scale. Antiquarian publication.
