A not very complicated model for modelers of any experience, depicting one of the cult cars - the Volkswagen "Kafer", better known in our country as the "Beetle" or the "Hunchback". The history of this car began even before the Second World War, when in 1934 Ferdinand Porsche received an order from the government of the Third Reich to design and manufacture a car for the masses - "Volkswagen" (Volks - folk, wagon - carriage in German), which Hitler promised people. Already in 1936 the first examples of this car appeared. In 1938 the cornerstone of the building of a factory for the production of these cars was laid near Wolfsburg. The beginning of World War II slows down the pace of production and only after its end it is developed significantly. The golden age of this car was the sixties of the last century. In 1972 the "Beetle" broke the world records for the number of cars produced, which belonged to the Ford T model. They were produced in Europe until 1978. Made in Mexico since 1977. They were also produced by the Philippines, the Republic of South Africa, Nigeria, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela, and Brazil. The last "Hunchback" was produced in 2003. Quite a few of them can still be found at vintage car auctions in Lithuania and with Lithuanian numeration plates.

From the publication You can make one of two car models: a simple production car with a yellow body and a racing car from the movie "Herbie". Model with full cabin equipment, but without engine and trunk compartment detailing. We advise beginner modelers to glue this model under the supervision of a more experienced colleague and not to make transparent glasses and interior detailing. Antiquarian publication.
