"Moltke" is one of the most famous German ships of World War I. Launched in 1911. Participated in many military operations throughout the war, including the famous Battle of Jutland. During the battles it was hit several times by shells of different calibers and once by a torpedo. During the war 17 sailors were killed and 22 were injured in "Moltke". Until the end of the war the ship remained almost intact and valuable, participating in many successful operations of the Hochseeflotte. On June 21, 1919, in order to prevent the British from taking over the German fleet, German Vice-Admiral von Reuter ordered the crews to scuttle their ships in the harbor of Scapa Flow. Here, along with other German warships, "Moltke" sank to the bottom.
Large, complex and beautiful, featuring an asymmetrical armament layout and superstructure shape, this model ship is for intermediate to advanced modelers. Antiquarian publication.
