In mid-1943 the Allies had a need to escort long-range heavy bombers with fighters, and it became clear, that they simply did not have the right aircraft. In November 1943 NAA offered to design and manufacture "Twin Mustang" fighters. It was supposed to be two P-51H fighters, combined into one plane. The constructors had a lot of work to do, because everything did not end with just joining. To improve the stability of the aircraft on the course, the fuselage has been lengthened, and the vertical tail plates have been increased. The entire landing gear was replaced and the inner part of the wing was newly designed. Since the mass of the plane increased from 5448 kg to 10896, it was necessary to strengthen the entire structure of the plane and at the same time to increase the size and capacity of the fuel tanks - they could hold 2180 liters of fuel. The central part of the wing had to support the transported large loads, hung on one or two pylons. The main armament of the fighter was installed here - 6 MG-53-2 machine guns with 440 rounds each. Two suspension points were also installed under the outer parts of the wing. The first flight of the serial fighter was made on April 15, 1945 - too late to contribute to bringing the end of World War II closer. Participated in the Korean War, after which they are gradually withdrawn from the armament.

A model of medium complexity and medium detail for modelers of medium experience. If you don't make the released chassis and make the cabins with opaque hoods, then this model, under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, can perfectly be glued together by modelers with little experience. Antiquarian publication.
