In 1944 a specification was issued for a single-engine jet fighter to replace the Me-262 "Schwalbe". The aircraft was to be powered by a Hirth 109-011A engine and was to reach 1000 km/h speed at an altitude of 7,000 m, the ceiling was to reach 14,000 m, the armament consisted of 4x30 mm caliber cannon MK - 108. The companies "Blohm und Woss", "Focke - Wulf", "Heinkell", "Junkers" and "Messerschmitt" participated in the competition. It was won by Messerschmitt's P-1101 and construction of the prototype began immediately. The work was prolonged due to the constantly changing requirements and design changes, and in the middle of March 1945 the work was completely stopped, but it was planned to continue it and take off for the first flight in June 1945. On April 29, 1945 Oberammergau was captured by the Americans and the prototype, which was about 80% finished, was shipped to the United States, where it served the US fighter development process.

A model of moderate difficulty for intermediate and advanced modelers. One of two versions can be made: the prototype as it was intercepted in the USA (without the engine and its compartment cladding's) and the "produced" fighter with the engine model and all the "cladding's". Antiquarian publication.
