USS "Selfridge" DD-357's keel was laid on December 18, 1933, launched on April 18, 1936 and commissioned on November 26, 1936. In January 1937 the ship sailed on a training trip to the Mediterranean Sea, then headed to the Caribbean, where she spent a month. In 1940 the ship was transferred to Pearl Harbor, where the war in the Pacific began. He survived the attack and quickly completed the crew. The "Selfridge" was one of those ships, that went out to look for the Japanese escadre, but to no avail. Until the end of December of that year he patrolled the vicinity of Hawaii. In 1942 it covered the aircraft carrier "Saratoga", and after it was torpedoed by the Japanese, it sailed to Pearl Harbor. 1942 was spent escorting ships and convoys, participating in the Battle of Guadalcanal, covering landing troops with fire. On the night of October 6-7, 1943 one of the 15 launched Japanese torpedoes hit the ship and cut off the front part, killing 49 sailors. However, the ship survived, sailed for repairs and the work continued for 9 months. In 1944 the convoys again, covering the landing in Guam, received the order to sail to the Atlantic Ocean on August 21, where they accompanied the convoy to Tunisia. He finished his service on October 15, 1945.

A complex, well-designed, richly detailed, albeit small ship model for experienced "wolves". Antiquarian publication.
