The Russian protected cruiser "Aurora" is still perhaps one of the best-known Russian ships of all time. Designed at the end of the 19th century, it was no longer a modern ship due to a long period of construction at the time of its introduction into service, but as the near future showed, it was solid, durable and greatly underestimated by the officers of the tsarist army. Her keel was laid on September 20, 1896, launched on May 24, 1900 and entered service only on July 29, 1903. In the autumn of 1904, as part of the Rozhdestvensky escadre, he sailed to the Pacific Ocean, where he was supposed to strengthen the Far East escadre. Fought at the Battle of Cusima and was hit by a number of enemy shells. The "Aurora" withdrew from the battle to Manila, Philippines. She stayed there until the end of 1905 and returned to the Baltic Sea. After repairs, it became a training ship and only returned to the list of battleships in World War I. Participated in the October Revolution, the beginning of which was announced by her shot. Later, it was used rarely and erratically, it survived World War II, the blockade of Leningrad, and on August 24, 1944, it was decided to overhaul the ship and preserve it as a monument of the revolution.

A complex, well-detailed and designed model for intermediate to advanced modelers. Antiquarian publication.
