Deck aviation played a huge role in World War II. One of the most famous deck planes of the time was the British Fairey “Swordfish”. Designed in the early 1930s, was obsolete at the beginning of war in 1939. But it became famous for its reliability and resistance to damage. “Swordfish” remained in the aircraft until the end of the war and survived the plane, that had to replace it - the Fairey “Albacore”. 13 divisions based on 5 aircraft carriers were armed with “SwordfishČ. The first success of World War II, “Swordfish”, was the sinking of the German submarine “U-64” in April 1940. In any case, these planes were probably involved in all the operations, in which Britain was involved. A total of 2392 aircraft of this type were produced.
A beautiful, well-designed, well-detailed model only for moderately experienced and experienced modelers. Antiquarian publication.
