The construction of the Bell AH-1 combat helicopter is closely linked to U.S. military action in Vietnam. During this war, it became necessary to have a helicopter in the armament, that could support own soldiers with fire, protect them, destroy moving (armored vehicles) and stationary targets, fight with enemy helicopters. At the start of the Vietnam War, this role was played by specially adapted Bell UH-1 “Iroquois” machines. The need to have a real percussion helicopter and was the impulse for the construction of another machine. Bell's designers were very quick to deal with the design of the new helicopter, and it was first used in combat operations in Vietnam in September 1967. The machine is marked AH-1G and is called “Cobra”. It has been used very successfully in combat operations, especially in the destruction of armored vehicles and other firearms. Over its nearly thirty years of the service machine has been constantly being modernized and improved. In addition to the United States, 10 countries had these helicopters in their armed forces: Greece, Spain, Iran, Israel, Japan, Jordanian, South Korea, Pakistan, Thailand, and Turkey.

The model of the Bell AH-1S “Cobra” helicopter of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces can be assembled from the publication. The model is not the most complex, but will require a lot of care and attention. A beautifully designed and richly detailed colorful model, which beginner and modeler with a little experience will work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. Antiquarian publication.
