The American light tank M5A1 was designed and approved for serial production on 24.09.1942. Serial production of these tanks began in November 1942, production was stopped in June 1944, after 6,810 units were produced. It was the result of a line of improvements to the M2A4, M3, M3A1, M3A3 and M5 light tanks already popular on the fronts of World War II. All of these tanks were initially used as cavalry fighting vehicles, but due to changes in military doctrine, they began to be used as fire support vehicles for motorized infantry and for covering the flanks of attacking armored units and performing reconnaissance tasks. In the British Army it received the name "Stuart" and markings from I to VI. They fought on all fronts of World War II, the armies of the USA, Great Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, SAR, USSR, Yugoslavia, France, China and Central America were armed with these tanks. They remained in the arsenal of some countries' armies long after World War II. They were also fought by the Polish armed forces in the West - the 1st armored division of the Polish general Macko. But in it, these tanks are mainly used for crew training and coordination exercises. The 2nd Polish Armored Brigade, which was commanded by General B. Rakowski, also had these tanks in its arsenal.

You can copy the vehicle of the 24th regiment, named after the hetman Zholkewski, of the 2nd Polish Armored Brigade from this publication. A small, medium-complexity, well-designed model with no interior detailing. Working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, this model can be perfectly glued together by an advanced beginner and a modeler with little experience. Antique publication.
