The escadre destroyer "Le Terrible" was launched on 30 November 1933 at the "Chartiers Francais" shipyard in Blainville near Caenj. He started his service in October 1935. The ship was distinguished by its longer length, larger water capacity and more powerful armament, than classic destroyers, which immediately allowed it to be distinguished in a new class of this type: the leader of escadre destroyers. During World War II the Vichy fleet operated initially in the Atlantic, and in 1940 it moved to the Mediterranean Sea. He escaped from the port of Mers-el-Kebir, which was under fire from the Allied fleet, and was based in French West Africa until 1942. It was later intercepted by the United States along with several other Vichy ships and continued to participate in hostilities already on the side of the Allies. After the war, it was returned to France, where it served until 1962.
A model of medium complexity that can be made even by a modeler with little experience under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. Antiquarian magazine.
