"Soldek" is a ship for transporting ore and coal, the first sea vessel in the history of Polish shipbuilding, built after World War II. Museum ship, exhibited in the Central Maritime Museum in Gdansk. The ship was designed by a group of Polish engineers, led by Henryk Geldzhik at the Gdansk shipyard, which was commissioned on October 19, 1947. The construction site of the ship was consecrated, and the first rivet was driven into the keel of the ship by the then Minister of Shipping. The ship is named after Stanisław Soldek (1917-1970), a markerer at the Gdansk shipyard. The ships keel was laid down on April 3, 1948, launched on November 6, 1948, and sailed until January 2, 1981. The dry cargo ship belonged to the Polish Shipping Company. In total, “Sołdek” made 1379 sea voyages. "Soldek" is the lead ship of the B30 project; in total, the Gdansk shipyard built 29 ships of this project in the period from 1949 to 1954. The B30 project became the prototype of the 1128 project - the ships of the hydrographic complex.
