The former flagship of the USSR scientific fleet - the scientific research ship "Kosmonavt Yuri Gagarin" - was built in 1971 in Leningrad. Port of registration - Odesa. From 1971 to 1991, the ship made 20 expeditionary voyages in the Atlantic Ocean. His tasks included operating and maintaining communications with automated satellites, interplanetary vehicles and manned spacecraft. After the collapse of the USSR, it went to Ukraine, where it was not used for its intended purpose until it was sold to an Austrian company for scrap metal in 1996.
Quite complex ship model due to large areas of superstructures and antennas, recommended for modellers with no less than average experience. Antiquarian edition.
