Even before Nazi Germany invaded the USSR, Soviet armored units received three new types of tanks: the T-50 and T-60 and the floating T-40. But it soon became clear, that these tanks did not meet their purpose due to too thin armor and weak armament. Therefore, during the course of the war, light tanks were gradually withdrawn from service and production, and medium tanks began to play their role on the battlefield. The last light tank, built during the war in the USSR, was the T-70, built by A. Lipgort at the Automobile factory Gorky. The tank uses a number of components from production trucks. By the end of 1942, about 8,000 tanks of this type were produced. The Armored Brigade of the Westerplatte Heroes of the 1st Polish People's Army was also armed with them. During battles, the T-70 is used for reconnaissance, communication support, and defense of headquarters. During the development of the design of this tank, the T-80 tank was built, which, however, was not as massively used, as its predecessor.

A simple, well-designed model without internal equipment, with a simplified chassis and tracks, perfect even for beginners and less experienced modelers, working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. Antiquarian publication.
