“Orkan”-type small missile ships (project 660M rocket ships) - a series of three small rocket ships, built by the order of the Polish Navy on the basis of unfinished Project 151 (NATO code – “Sassnitz”) hulls received from the VEB “Peenewerft” shipyard. Anti-ship guided rockets were abandoned, the Polish Navy was added in 1992, 1994 and 1995 as project 660 rocket ships. During the modernization, carried out in 2008-2009, the ships were equipped with modern electronic equipment, that meets NATO standards and equipment for the release of RBS15 anti-ship guided rockets. The modernized ships are presented as project 660M rocket ships. “Orkan”-type ships serve in the 3rd Battleship Division, stationed in Gdynia, which belongs to the Warships Flotilla and is one of its most important striking elements. Their task is to attack enemy surface warships and transports, destroy air attack equipment, escort their own ships, patrol and protect communication routes and assigned sea areas.

A small, but well designed and richly detailed warship model for intermediate to advanced modelers. Any of the three ships - ORP “Orkan”, ORP “Piorun” and ORP “Grom” - can be assembled, as the publication includes interchangeable parts for all three ships. Double-sided printing is used, where necessary.
