MRS-80 - small fishing seiner with 80 h. p. power engine. The factory number of the project is 389. The project appeared in the fifties of the last century, when the USSR economy felt a great need to increase the volume of fish production. The solution to this problem involved the creation of a network of fishing product processing plants and a special fleet of fishermen in the coastal zone. This seiner was designed to sail 20 nautical miles from the base. He could fish with seines and drift nets. The design of the ship was a boat with an elevated frontal part. The MRS-80 seiners first went to fisherman's collective farms in the north-west of the USSR. In 1954 - 1955 several dozen such seiners were tried to be transported to the Far East via the Northern Sea Route, but this navigation showed, that sailing such small boats in ice conditions is associated with great risk. Therefore, in 1956, their building began at the Nikolaevsk-on-Amur shipyard. In nearest time, MRS-80 began to be built in series and for a long time they were the main seiner for fisherman's collective farms. It should be noted, that in 1956-57 there was a successful attempt to convert the seiner of this project into a minesweeper (proj. T389) and a border guard boat. Petrozavodsk Shipyard built one ship each of both types. Due to the fact, that seiners were built in different shipyards, depending on the year of production and the shipyard, their appearance and equipment differed slightly. This affected the differences in the external appearance of the cabin, chimney, bulwark, as well, as the shape and layout of the seiner area and other ship's equipment. The project was so successful, that many of these ships are still in use today. Such a seiner as a monument is placed on a pedestal in Vladivostok.

A simple, well designed and richly detailed model of a fishing vessel for this scale, for modelers of all experience. True, advanced beginners and modelers with little experience are recommended to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, and this should not be one of the first models of increased complexity, You glue. Where necessary, the details are double-sided printied, there is a considerable reserve of colors. The graphic instruction is simply exemplary.
