In 1930es the Polish transatlantic shipping company was founded, which in the same year bought the "Baltic-American line" with three ships from a Danish company. But it soon became clear, that the three outdated ships, built in 1912, could not cope with the ever-increasing flow of emigrants. Therefore, two new transatlantic liners were ordered in 1932. The second ship, launched in 1935, was named "Batory" and only a year later the ship sailed on its maiden voyage. The ship started its first voyage to New York, for which it was built, on May 18, 1936 and made 38 voyages before the war. During the war, it sailed as an army transport. After the war it was returned to Poland and sailed there as a tourist liner until March 11, 1971, when it was scrapped.
A beautiful, complex, richly detailed model of a passenger ship, designed for experienced modelers only. Excellent graphic and medium text assembly instructions.
