"Mecidiye" is a Turkish armored cruiser of the beginning of the 20th century, launched in 1903, built at the American "Crampa" shipyard. It belonged to the following fleets: Turkish (Ottoman Empire), Russian (Tsarist Russia) under the name "Prut" and again Turkish (Republic of Turkey). It was almost identical to the cruiser "Hamidiye" and saw active service in the Ottoman Navy during the First Balkan War and the first phase of World War I in the Black Sea. On April 3, 1915 it sank after hitting a mine near Odessa, after which it was raised and included in the Russian fleet, but was not intensively used in combat. Returned to Turkey after the war, in 1947removed from active service, cut in the fifties.
A well-designed, richly detailed model for intermediate to advanced modelers. Double-sided printing is used, where necessary, some details are printed on thin paper, excellent graphic instructions. The model recreates the cruiser as it was at the end of building - the white camouflage requires attention and care. Propellers, compass heads, porthole frames and some other details are printed with "Metallic" type bronze paint.
