The American tug "Despatch No.9" was built in 1942 at the Tampa Marine Corp shipyard. This tug, unlike those, built in Europe, does not have a tow hook. Towing purposes are served by a tow winch, designed for towing with a long rope. Also adapted for flatbed towing. This tug also does not have an anchor winch. Anchoring is done with a light anchor of Byers construction, lowering it manually, raising it with a double-headed spiel. Also, a steel cable is used instead of an anchor chain.
A small, uncomplicated model, suitable for all, but the most experienced modeler. But modelers with little experience should work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague and this should not be one of the first, more complex models You build.
