Project 1135.6 frigates inherited the best features of their previously designed ships for this purpose. They have heavily upgraded electronics and weaponry. Also, these ships have a landing pad for the Ka-27 helicopter and a hangar for it. The architecture of the hull and superstructures has been drastically changed, which meets the latest low-observability requirements. The ships of the 1135.6 project are multi-purpose: they can fight surface and submarine ships, repel air attacks both individually and in combination with other ships. 6 ships of this type have been ordered for the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
