SMS "Sachsen" is the first ship of this class of four armored ships of the German Navy. The ships "Bayern", "Württemberg" and "Baden" also belonged to this class. Four ships were commissioned between 1878 and 1883, the last of the planned five, "Oldenburg", was built to a different design. The "Sachsen" keel was laid in 1875. April, launched in 1877. July 21 and began service in 1878. October 21. The ship's main armament consisted of a battery of 6x 26 cm (10 in) guns. The speed and seaworthiness of the "Sachsen"-type battleships proved to be very mediocre, they had difficulty keeping their course in rough seas, and in a storm they could not swim against the waves at all, and they kept their course poorly. In the second half of the 90s the battleships were overhauled. Only one stack was left for them, the old armor was replaced with modern Krupp armor, the speed increased by one knot. However, expensive upgrades did little to improve the combat capabilities of the old ships, in 1906 "Württemberg" was converted into an experimental ship, armed with 7 torpedo tubes and four 88 mm guns. He served until the end of the First World War. Her co-types were withdrawn from the fleet lists in 1910, but they continued to serve as auxiliaries. "Baden" remained in service for the longest time.

The model, although small, is very complex, well designed and well detailed, intended for intermediate to advanced modelers only. You can glue together a model of the ship, as it was in 1878. There are two variants of underwater cladding details. Where necessary, details are double-side printed.
