HMS "General Wolfe", also known as "Wolfe", was a "Lord Clive"-class monitor built in 1915 for coastal shelling during the First World War. A series of eight ships of this class were armed with four obsolete "Majestic"-class "pre-dreadnought" 12-inch guns, the barrels and mounts of which were removed from the old ships, modified and installed on the new-builds. The "Wolfe" spent its entire war service as part of the "Dover Patrol", shelling the German-occupied Belgian coast, which was heavily fortified. In 1918 in the spring she was fitted with an 18-inch (457 mm) gun, which fired the longest range in the Royal Navy's history, 36,000 yards (20 mi) at targets at Snaeskerk, Belgium. Decommissioned, disarmed and demonted after the war, the ship was sold for scrap in 1920. Finally cut in 1923.
A complex, well-designed and well-detailed model for intermediate to advanced modelers. The graphic instruction is excellent, lots of color 3D drawings, double-side printing is used, where necessary.
