"Diana" is an armored cruiser of the Russian Imperial Navy (cruiser of the 1st rank). 1896. 05. 09 included in the list of ships of the Baltic Fleet. The keel was laid in 1897. June 4 at St. Petersburg's "Galerny Ostrov" shipyard boathouse. Launched in 1899. October 12. Joined the service in 1901. December 23. Removed from the fleet lists in 1925. 11. 21. 1895 in March, in the course of 1895 shipbuilding program, design work on the Pacific armored cruiser project began. The ship was supposed to perform reconnaissance functions and combat enemy merchant ships at a relatively short distance from the bases. Design works were completed in 1896 in the summer, later the keels of two cruisers of the same type, "Pallada" and "Diana", were laid at the same "Galerny Ostrov" shipyard, and a little later, the keel of the third cruiser of the series, "Aurora", was laid at the "New Admiralty shipyard". The junior shipbuilder A.I. Mustafin was appointed as the builder of "Diana's". Due to the fear of overloading the ships, the number of guns and their caliber were reduced on all cruisers. 1901-1902 during the tests, it became clear, that the two first cruisers could not reach the design speed, despite the fac,t that the power of the machines was higher, than the design.
A complex, well designed and detailed model, that recreates the appearance of a late 19th and early 20th century Imperial Russian Navy vessel. The model is quite complex and intended only for intermediate and advanced modelers. You can assemble together the cruiser model in appearance of 1904, when he served in Port Arthur from the publication. Where necessary, parts are double-sided printed, bottom cladding and some parts are printed with copper "metallic" paints.
