"Moriana" - type fishing vessels are built specifically for catching kelp in the Caspian Sea. With them, these fish are caught from a depth of 60-140 meters during night fishing, luring them with the help of light and sucking them into the ship with special pumps. The fish is immediately prefabricated on board, ready-to-use products or semi-finished products are delivered to the shore. Ships of this type were designed in 1980 at the Central Design Bureau "Vostok" in Leningrad and built at the Klaipėda Shipbuilding Plant "Baltija". The first ship of the series "Moriana" was handed over to the customer - the association "Kaspijskaja Ryba" in 1982. A total of 55 ships of this type were built between 1982 and 1990.
Although small, a complex, well designed and detailed model of a beautiful ship for intermediate and advanced modelers.
