Destroyer "Griemiashchij" is a prominent representative of the first series of Soviet project 7 destroyers. It was the first series of surface ships, built in the USSR. It was the "seven", that renewed the Soviet military fleet and brought it to a qualitatively new level. The keel of "Griemiashchij" was laid on July 23, 1936 in A. Zhdanov shipyard no. 190 in Leningrad. It was given the construction number S-515. The ship was launched on August 12, 1937 and entered service on August 28, 1939. Immediately after the start of service, "Griemiashchij" sailed north through the Baltic-White Sea Channel and arrived in Poliarnyj on November 8. During the war with Finland it performed patrol duty and accompanied transport ships, it did not directly participate in the fighting. From November 1940 to May 1941 - warranty repairs and, when Germany attacked the USSR, it was in almost perfect condition. On the night of June 22, 1941, at 1:30 a.m., the state of readiness No. 1. And "Griemiashchij" was transferred from Poliarnyi to Vaenga Bay according to the deployment plan. Here, on the second day of the war, the ship opened fire on the enemy planes, that attacked the destroyer. On June 24 "Griemiashchij" set sail for the first combat campaign. In 1941 the ship's crew was mostly engaged in building mine barriers and escorting transports, since March 1942 escorts became the main task of the destroyer's crew. On March 29 the convoy, accompanied by the "seven", was attacked by German destroyers, but very bad weather conditions prevented the "Griemiashchij" from participating in the artillery battle, although other ships fired several salvos. The next day an enemy submarine was discovered, which was ambushing cargo ships off Kola Bay. The destroyer attacked the enemy at a speed of 20 knots and dropped 17 depth charges into the submersion zone of the submarine, which destroyed the enemy. After the war surviving German documents revealed, that the submarine U-585 had been sunk. On March 2 the crew of the ship was awarded the Guard flag. During the war "Griemiashchij" carried out 90 combat missions, sailed 59,850 nautical miles in battles and campaigns, repelled 112 air attacks, during which it shot down 14 and damaged over 20 planes, sank one submarine and escorted 63 convoys

A small, but complex, well designed and detailed model of a medium warship for intermediate to advanced modelers. Where necessary, the details are double-sided printing, there is a fairly large stock of colors. For less experienced modelers, the model, even, when working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, can be too difficult a task due to the large number of small details and rather complex nodes.
