"Kostromich" type cutters were designed at the initiative of "Glavlesprom" CKB in the late forties of the 20th century. The official date of approval of the ship's project is 1949. Two modifications of this tugs were built: T-60 and 1606, which differed significantly from each other. Initially, the cutters were intended for work in forest cutting areas for forest navigation, towing non-self-propelled barges, ships and pontoons, transportation of cargo, weighing up to 1.5 tons, transportation of groups of passengers up to 20 people (mainly workers of forest navigation works). But, when the cutters started working, the USSR Navy and the border services were also interested in them. In civil service they are also used as tugboats and pleasure boats. These small diesel-ships were very popular in many shipping industries of the USSR, so during the entire construction period they were built in quite a large number. Most of these cutters were used for civilian purposes, but a significant number served as border guard vessels. In total, over 500 cutters of project 1606 were built.

A small, simple, well-designed and well-detailed model for modelers of all experience. Only beginners and modelers with little experience should glue this model under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. There is an abundant reserve of colors, detailing of the control cabin.
