The ship was designed and built in Livorno (Italy) by order of the USSR Government. The keel was laid on September 9, 1935, launched on December 28, 1937, and entered service on October 22, 1939. At the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, it took a very active part in the combat operations in the Black Sea - it protected the convoys of supply ships, supported the units of the Red Army, defending themselves by fire, disembarked landing parties, delivered ammunition and transported the wounded and civilians from the besieged Sevastopol. In July 1942 it broke through from Novorossiysk to Sevastopol, where it took on board over 2,100 people and the surviving canvases of F.A. Rub's panorama "Defense of Sevastopol in 1854-1855". 336 aerial bombs were dropped on the overloaded ship, the ship was badly damaged. On July 2, 1942, "Tashkent" was hit by 2 air bombs and the ship sank near the Novorossiysk embankment.
Well designed and richly detailed model for real "sea wolves". Colors reserve available. Where necessary, details are double-sided printed. The model is equipped with "secondary cladding" and covered with an unconventional in paper models longitudinal strip, covering the sides and bottom of the real ship.
