SMS "Albatross" is a minesweeper of the Imperial German Navy. The keel was laid in 1907, on May 19, 1908 the ship was handed over for trials. The pre-war years for the ship passed without any important events and upheavals in the performance of routine service tasks. On July 1, 1915, the SMS "Albatross" set sail to lay mines, accompanied by the armored cruiser "Roon", the light cruisers "Augsburg" and "Lubeck" and 7 destroyers. On the same day the Russian cruisers "Admiral Makarov", "Bayan", "Bogatyrj", "Oleg", "Riurik", destroyer "Novik" and 8 destroyers went to sea. Their goal was the shelling to Klaipėda (Memel). After receiving a radio message about the completion of the construction of the mine barrier, a brigade of Russian ships set out to intercept the German ships. On the morning of July 2, near the island of Gotland, Russian ships spotted "Augsburg", "Albatross" and 3 destroyers of the squadron and began to fire on them. The "Albatross" tried to escape into Swedish territorial waters, but the cruisers "Bogatyrj" and "Oleg" caught up with it and fired concentrated fire. At 9 o'clock the burning "Albatross" ran aground at Cape Esterhorn, in this battle 28 German sailors were killed and more than 50 wounded. In 1915, "Albatross" was towed from the shoal, after the war it was cut up.

A moderately complex, richly detailed model for such a small ship, intended for modelers of no less, than average experience. Colors reserve are available. Where necessary, details are double-sided printed.
