In 1946 - 1947 on the order of the Ministry of River Transport of the USSR, the Leningrad Central Technical Construction Bureau (CTKB) designed a two-deck passenger diesel ship for local lines. In 1948 - 1949 the Moscow Shipbuilding and Repair Plant started the mass production of this type of passenger diesel-ships, which received the name "Moskvich" ("Muscovite"). These ships have been built for three decades in various shipyards. In total, about 500 diesel ships of this type were built. Today, many of these ships are still used for their purpose, despite the fact, that some of them are more, than 50 years old. A dozen ships of this type were also used by the Lithuanian SSR River Shipping for passenger transportation and tourist trips in Nemunas, Neris, Lake Galvė. Several of them ("Riga", "Skaistis", "Algirdas"...) are still sailing today.
Based on the photos, this model can be perfectly converted into one of these "Lithuanians". A small model with a medium level of detail, with interior detailing of the cabins and cockpit. We recommend this model for intermediate to advanced modelers. For advanced beginners and modelers with little experience it is best to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague and not to make the interior of the passenger salon and control cabin, transparent glasses. Colors reserve are in stock.
