The "Virginia" was the first ironclad in the Confederate States Navy during the American Civil War. Rebuilt from the USS "Merrimack", a steam frigate, captured by the Southerners. Participated in the famous battle of the Hampton Raid, during which it caused heavy damage to the wooden ships of the Northerners, but was stopped by the American turreted ironclad USS "Monitor". After an inconclusive battle, both battleships split up. "Virginia" took part in several other small operations, but did not encounter the enemy again. In 1862 in May, when the Southerners were forced to leave Norfolk, the "Virginia" was destroyed, because evacuation was not possible.

A simple, but quite interesting model. Recommended for all navy lovers. This model has a high level of detail and is double-sided printing. Copper paint is used for the bottom plating, which makes the model more realistic. The model is designed for modelers of all experience levels and is not so complex, that an advanced beginner or novice modeler cannot assemble it under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. But it won't be easy.
