Launched in 1900, entered service in 1902. It was the flagship of the Japanese fleet in the Russo-Japanese War. Participated in the battles in the Yellow Sea and at Cuhsima. The ship sank immediately after the end of the war (September 11, 1911) due to a fire and explosion of gunpowder stores. After several attempts in 1906 raised to the surface in August and returned to service after two years of repairs. During World War I, he protected the coasts of Japan. In 1923, it was removed from the fleet and turned into a museum ship. During World War II, the ship was often bombed by the Americans. After the end of the war, the ship was disarmed, the battleship itself was in a deplorable condition. Restoration works were carried out in 1958-1961.
