In 1914, the oil tankers "Sheksna" and "Neva" were built at the Nizhny Novgorod Shipbuilding Plant "Nizhegorodskij Teplochod". These were ships of the "river-sea" type, capable of passing through the locks of the Mariinsk water system and suitable for navigation in the Baltic Sea. At the same time, the ships were economical and easy to service. In 1916 in December, both ships were mobilized into the Baltic Fleet, renamed "Elena" and "Nina" respectively, and used for refueling the new "Novik"-type oil destroyers. In 1922 both ships were transferred from the Baltic Fleet to the North-West District. In 1921 "Sheksna" was renamed to "V. S. Borisov". In the North-West water basin, ships worked reliably until the Great Patriotic War. In the summer of 1943 they were given for scrapping.
The small model of the "Sheksna" oil tanker, well designed and sufficiently detailed, is not very complex. Recommended for modelers of all experience, but novice and little experienced modelers should work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. This model is one of the few, that can be the first more complex model in Your modeling career. There are sheets with double-sided printing.
