Ships of the "27-knot type "Boxer", "Ardent" and "Bruiser"were built at the shipyards of the firm "Thornycroft". They had a steel forged stem with a ram formation in the underwater part, a characteristic rounded stern with a slope to the water, the mast was located almost close to the bow chimney. "Boxer" was able to develop a speed of 29, 175 knots during sea trials. This was the second result among 36 ships of the 1893–1894 program. "Boxer" in the period from May 1896 to 1911 served in the Mediterranean Sea, and then returned to the waters of the Metropolis. During the I World War was part of the defense flotilla of Portsmouth. February 8, 1918 at 07:00 collided with the British hospital ship “St. Patrick” during a storm near the Isle of Wight and was badly damaged, an attempt was made to run aground, but the ship sank 2.5 miles from shore.
Model is not very complicated, therefore, under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, even an advanced beginner, who already has several more complex models behind him, can glue it together. But it won't be easy. The model is well designed and richly detailed, some details are printed with “metallic” bronze paint. There are sheets with double-sided printing.
