Participated in the Russo - Japanese War (defense of Port - Arthur, battles in the Yellow Sea). On December 7, 1904, after the damage, caused by hitting the enemy 's projectiles, his crew was submerged in the western basin of the port of Port - Arthur, and on the eve of the capitulation of January 2, 1905, it was additionally blown up by order of the leadership. On June 29, 1905, he was raised by the Japanese rescuers and, after a restorative repair in 1909, named “Sagami” and included in the Japanese Navy as a Class I Coast Guard. In 1916, the Russian government redeemed it. Housing and machinery repaired in Vladivostok. On January 4, 1917, leaving Port - Said with an English convoy into the Gulf of Kola, a mine was struck in the Mediterranean by a German submarine, the U - 73, and exploded. Since the ammunition detonation, it exploded again, overturned and sank.
