The “Batory” was designed by engineer Alexander Potyrala. The cutter was built at Modlin Shipyard in 1930-32 and was launched on 23 April. The tests took place in the Gulf of Gdańsk. A year after the start of the service, aimed at rebuilding and replacing the rapidly corroding aluminum parts with steel ones, the breakwater was replaced by a steel rebate. The cutter served in the Border Guard and was used to fight smuggling. At the outbreak of the war, all Border Guard vessels were mobilized and deployed in the fishing port of Hell. “Batory” was involved in defending the peninsula from air strikes. After Hell's capitulation, “Batory” left the port on October 1 and turned to Sweden. Despite the German grille, he managed to break into Swedish territorial waters. In 1945 “Batory” returned to Poland. Services in the Polish People's Navy changed their name several times until 1957, when they were written off and transferred to the League Friends of Soldiers. In 1969 he was removed from service, in 1973 he was built as a ship - a monument in the Hell’s garrison, and in 2009 it was restored and became an exhibit of the Gdynia Naval Museum
A small, simple, but demanding model of a patrol cutter, which will be perfectly glued by a modeler of any experience, but there is no need to rush. And it will be necessary to use all reserves of patience, diligence and attentiveness.
