The ferry "Bute" (this is already the seventh ship, named by this name) was built by the Gdańsk "Stocznia Polnocna" SA for the owner of ships - the Scot company "Caledonian MacBrayne" (“CalMac”). Scotland has many islands, 130 of which are inhabited. Therefore, the Scottish ferry fleet is relatively large. “CalMac” owns 31 vessels, sailing along the west coast of Scotland. “Bute” was launched on 09.05.2005, replacing the ferry “Saturn” on the Wemyss Bay-Rothesay route. The settlement of Rothesay is located on the Isle of Bute, which is called Eilean Bhoid in Scots, and the ferry is named after it. The trace runs across the River Clyde. The ship will transfer the cars to the main deck. Their movement takes place through three ramps. Passengers have at their disposal two decks - one open and one covered with observation lounge and snack bar. The propellers are installed at the front and rear of the ship, allowing it to move at the same speed in any direction. In order to provide islanders with maximum comfort, “CalMac” ferries operate according to a prearranged itinerary. Since the passenger flow on individual routes varies greatly, the owner receives so-called "grants" from the government - he is covered for the losses, that arise from the maintenance of unprofitable routes. The order to build the ship in a Polish shipyard in Scotland caused a number of protests. The main argument was, that grants, coming from the Scottish Government, should create jobs for Scots, not foreigners. But “Stocznia Remontowa's” offer was the best of the eight, submitted to the owner.

A small, well-designed ferry model without an underwater section for modelers of all experience. It can be glued by advanced beginners and modelers with little experience, working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. There are models of cars and trucks.
