Corvette “Hasanuddin” was built, together with three other ships of the same type, at the Dutch shipyard “de Schelde” in Wilsingen. Construction started on March 27, 2005, and the Indonesian flag was raised on the ship on November 24, 2007. The ship cost about 139 million euros. “Hasanuddin” is an innovative ship, built according to the “Sigma modular” design, which allows the construction of ships of different sizes, armament and combat capabilities, using the same construction technology. The “Damen” concern, which owns the shipyard, that built the “Hasanuddin”, is building the next ships for Indonesia, according to the same project, but already at the Indonesian shipyard in Surabaya. For this purpose, the concern bought a shipyard and installed a production line. The corvette protects Indonesia's territorial waters, including the Strait of Malacca, which is very important for international trade, and which most ships sailing from the Far East to Africa and Europe have to pass through. The tasks of this patrol ship include the fight against smugglers and pirates.

In addition to this ship, three other corvettes of the same type were built: “Diponegoro”, “Sultan Iskandar Muda”, and “Frans Kaisiepo”, and any of them can be built from this edition, with different deck, sides, and stern details for all ships. The model, although quite complex, but, when working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, it can be done perfectly even by a modeler with little experience. By the way, it is possible to glue the model without the underwater part. The helipad enclosures are printed on transparent thin plastic.
