On March 16, 2009, the flag flew off the mast of the tug - tractor "Virtus". The vessel was built by the company "Stocznia Polnoczna" S.A. The owner of the tug - the company "WUŽ - Port and Maritime Service" operates tugs in the port of Gdansk. “Virtus” is a "tractor" type tug, powered by two azimuth thrusters, mounted in the forward part of the ship's hull. This allows the vessel to perform towing operations both forward and stern forward. Such device gives the ship great maneuverability and increases the number of functions, performed by the ship. “Virtus” is equally adept at towing ships, pushing them against the side or braking them - playing the role of an active rudder. This is very important in the inner basin of the Port of Gdansk, where car ferries, bulk carriers up to 300 meters in length, drill-ships and platforms, that sail to the Gdansk Repair Shipyard for repairs, enter the narrow waters of the Dead Vistula. He can also be found working on the largest container ships, arriving at the Port of Gdansk.
A medium difficulty well designed model of a small ship for medium advanced and advanced modelers. However, by making a slightly simplified model and working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, this model will be perfectly assembled even by a beginner or a modeler with little experience.
