The "Sea Wraith" frigate project is a product of the "Vosper Thornycroft" ltd shipyard in Great Britain, the construction of which uses a wide range of technologies, that reduce the detection capabilities of the ship and all the innovations, defined by the name "Stealth". They include reducing the ship's radar reflection area, reducing visibility in the infrared range. All this helps the ship avoid enemy detection. The first goal is achieved by using flat and parallel surfaces, a forsteven that simply "cuts" into the waves, and the use of two towers, located as far, as possible from each other, helps to disorient the targeting system of an incoming enemy missile. The equipment of the main deck is covered by a high bulwark, which also plays the role of railings. A lifting hood covers the anchoring system. The radio antennas are hidden inside one of the towers and it also has a retractable mast. In peacetime, the mast is non-retractable, but in the event of a threat of conflict, it can be fully or partially retracted, creating misleading radar reflection echoes. To reduce the chance of being hit by thermal adaptation missiles, the "Sea Wraith" can create a fog curtain around itself, cooling the entire ship structure. The weaponry is also innovative, consisting of innovative artillery, two types of missile launchers and an unmanned reconnaissance vehicle and a Westland "Lynx" combat helicopter.
A small, uncomplicated, well designed and detailed model of an unusual ship to the maximum scale for this scale, a modeler of any experience will do well, but for beginners and less experienced modelers it should not be the first more complex model. And they are advised to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague.
