On October 1, 1936, a keel of H. M. S. “Matabele”, a destroyer, was laid at the “Scotts Shipbuilding and Enginieering Shipyard” in Grynouk. The ship was launched on October 6, 1937, and began service on January 25, 1939. On January 29, the ship is added to the 2 Miners' Fleet and is based in Portland. May 3 “Matabele” goes on a visit to Cherbourg, takes part in the rescue operation of the submarine “Thetis” in June, carried out several escort tasks in late 1939 and early 1940. In March 1940, he was sent to Portsmouth for repairs. In May, the Narvik was evacuated, and Falmute, which underwent a brief overhaul in June, continued its anti-invasive activities until the end of the year. In April 1941, he was directed to the modernization of armaments, later participating in the disembarkation of commandos in Bodo. On January 8, 1942, the convoy PQ-18 sailed for the USSR and on the 17th in the Barents Sea, the German submarine “U-454” torpedoed “Matabele” and the ship sunk, rescued only 2 sailors.

A complex, well-designed, richly detailed, but somewhat monotonous model for moderately experienced and experienced modelers.
