In the 1930s, in response to the increase in the size and power of the Italian navy, the French authorities reversed the decision to build and modernize new battleships, recognizing it as insufficient to offset the growing power of potential adversaries. Following the expansion and modification of the “Dunkirk” project's battleship, construction began in 1937 on two heavy battleships: the “Richelieu” and the “Jeun Bart”. The “Richelieu” is launched on 17 January 1939, the following year tests are carried out and the ship stops in Casablanca, where news of the French capitulation reaches the crew. In order to prevent the Germans or Italians from taking over the ships, left without owners, the Allies began their hunt. On January 25, 1942, “Richelieu” is taken over by the Free French forces and, chased by a whole gang of Ubots, the ship breaks into a New York port, where it is modernized and repaired. Since the end of 1943, it has been part of the British Home Fleet and is based in Scape Flow. He is later transferred to a Pacific war zone where, while participating in battles, reaches the end of the war. After the war, the life of the ship takes place in the usual mode of the peace year: training, long-distance sailing, maneuvers. In 1956 he took part in the Suez Canal War, after which he stood in reserve for 12 years and ended his life on the cutting quay.

Large, beautiful, sophisticated, well-designed and richly detailed model for real professionals. The publication is completed with laser-cut parts from 1 mm cardboard.
