The armored cruiser "Jeanne d'Arc" was built at the “Arsenal de Toulon” shipyard in France. Its keel was laid in October 1896, put into service in 1902, named in honor of Jeanne d,Arc. It was already the fourth ship to bear this name. "Jeanne d'Arc" was the first armored cruiser of the French Navy and it became the pioneer of ships of this type. The ship was a big step forward in terms of construction, compared to previous cruisers. The silhouette of the ship was significantly different from previous cruisers. The long, pointed and curved forsteven was abandoned and a short slightly curved ram prow was used, which was also widely used in other navies. The cruiser's stacks became a distinctive feature, due to the construction of which it was often nicknamed "a packet of cigarettes". Steam was produced by 36 "Guyot du Temple" type boilers, three "VTE" type steam engines were installed on the ship, located in the center of the hull between the boiler rooms. Despite their high power, the design speed of 23 knots could not be achieved - only 21.8 knots were "squeezed out". In addition to the lower, than design, speed, the ship was also difficult to control and had little maneuverability. The ship was based at the Navy's Mediterranean base in Toulon. After entering service, the ship participated in numerous maneuvers and the crew underwent intensive training during test trips. In 1903 French President Emilie Loubet sailed on this ship for a visit to Algeria. Since 1912 the ship has served as a training ship of the French Naval Academy. At the outbreak of World War I, it was again included in the list of warships and strengthened the Atlantic escadre. Initially patrolling the English Channel, from 1912 to 1917 it operated in the Mediterranean near the Suez Canal, protecting it from the Turkish fleet. In 1915 he participated in the evacuation of several thousand Armenians. In 1915, together with the line ship "Jaureguiberry" he participated in the capture of the Avard Islands. In 1918 escorted a convoys between the USA and France. After the war it again served as a training ship, in which it served until 1928. Transferred to the reserve in 1929, deleted from the fleet lists in 1934, later served as a target ship.

A well-designed and highly detailed warship model of medium complexity, intended for intermediate to advanced modelers.
