“Kersaint's” keel was laid on September 19, 1930 at the Saint Nazaire shipyard. The hull was launched on November 14, 1931, and entered service on December 31, 1933. The ship was assigned to the 6th Atlantic Light Division, but was soon transferred to the Mediterranean, in late 1934 it entered the 9th Light Division of the 1st Squadron and in 1936 it was transferred to the 3rd Squadron. At the outbreak of war, the ship escorted British convoys between Egypt and Gibraltar, fought against smuggling and took part in patrols from the Toulon base. Repaired in April-May 1940, in June it participates in the escort yourney of the aviation transport "Commadant Teste" to Oran. On July 3 the "Kersaint" docked at Mers-el-Kebir, where the British "Force H" arrived, which, after unsuccessful negotiations, shelled the French squadron and sank the battleship "Provence". The “Kersaint”, together with the lineship “Strasbourg”, sailed to Toulon for several months of turbine repairs and training. Only at the end of 1940 he participated in several missions near the shores of North Africa. Since the beginning of 1942, it has been stationed again in Toulon, where on November 27, 1942 the French crews sank their own fleet, avoiding its handover to Germany and Italy.

A complex, beautiful and detailed ship model intended for intermediate and advanced modellers only, recreating the ship as it was in the summer of 1939.
